It’s heavy, durable and flexible. Freshly cut tree can be easily formed/bent. The wood is appreciated owing to its flexibility and abrasion resistance and it’s only slightly less harder than beech. CHERRY
This noble tree that belongs to rose family can be found in Europe and Asia Minor. The tree reaches a height of 30 meters. The bark is reddish-brown, slightly shiny. The leaves are from opposite, twisting along the stem, to oblong, oval leaves with slender tip. The tree has a regular cone-shaped crown. Younger trees have a slender crown, while the older ones have the columnar crown.
